Our underwriting approach
We assess each risk on its own merits within our agreed appetite and underwriting authority. Clear information helps us understand the exposure, identify any additional requirements and explain the basis of our decision.
For unusual occupancies, complex portfolios or specialist requirements, speak to us early. We will explain what we need and whether the enquiry can progress, including any insurer referral required.
Submissions and referrals
Submit available online products through the broker portal. For other enquiries, contact our underwriting team to agree the appropriate submission route. Depending on the product, please include:
The insured’s name, business activities and required inception date.
Risk addresses, occupancy, construction and relevant protection measures.
The covers required, sums insured or indemnity limits, and relevant turnover or wage-roll information.
Claims and loss history for the period requested by the product.
Relevant surveys, existing terms and any features that need specific consideration.
Your contact details and any quotation or policy reference.
For a referral, highlight the question requiring a decision and provide the supporting information. Cover is effective only when confirmed through an authorised trading route and on the agreed terms.
Documents and resources
Our document library brings together product information and broker resources, including IPIDs, policy summaries, wordings, proposal forms and trading information. Select a product or document category, or ask our team for the version relevant to your enquiry.
